Best Ranger Competition
Proudly Supporting These Skilled and Strong-Willed
“Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier…”
From The Ranger Creed

When Major General Lucian Truscott was given the task of training a specialized U.S. Army force modeled after British Commandos at the onset of World War II, he chose the name Rangers in honor of a legendary unit during the French and Indian War.
The U.S. Rangers have proudly served our nation ever since.
In 1982, the first annual Best Ranger Competition was held at Fort Benning, Georgia. This grueling three-day event features two-man teams competing in event ranging from pistol and machine gun marksmanship to 20-mile marches with 60-pound ruck sacks. The obstacle course, bayonet assault course, airborne operation and other continuous day-and-night challenges seriously test the technical capabilities and the physical and mental stamina of strong-willed, incredibly well-trained and highly skilled soldiers who refuse to break.
And that’s why GOJO proudly served as a Silver Supporter of the 2011 Best Ranger Competition.
