On December 19, 2017, the U.S. FDA announced its final rule on certain active ingredients allowed in hand hygiene products used in healthcare settings. The only significant change is that manufacturers have until December 20, 2018 to discontinue manufacturing and shipping antibacterial handwashes with triclosan for the healthcare market.
