Reducing Greenhouse Gases

Although GOJO operations do not leave a sizable carbon footprint, we recognise the global threat that greenhouse gases (GHG) pose to the environment. Furthermore, we're committed to conducting green business practices that promote the health and safety of people while contributing to environmental sustainability.

That's why we're focusing our attention on the global effort to reduce GHG emissions. Our goal is to reduce our own GHG by 5% relative to the 2010 per use rate, by 2015.

Building on Energy Conservation

The state-of-the-art, GOJO Distribution Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, was designed and built with energy conservation and green business practices in mind.
It includes the use of T8 fluorescent bulbs that use 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and last ten times longer. Other energy efficiencies include sensors that shut off lights when those areas are not in use and high frequency tow motor battery chargers that automatically shut down when batteries are charged.

Assessing and Improving

GOJO recently conducted an energy assessment within our production facilities with the assistance of West Virginia University, a designated U.S. Department of Energy Industrial Assessment Center. With this benchmark, we now have a better grasp on the energy decisions we make and can align our policies, processes and procedures to further decrease our greenhouse gases.

In that same spirit of improving our green business practices, GOJO has implemented a fleet optimisation program to minimise our carbon footprint associated with product shipping .
