GOJO Unveils C.A.R.E. Hand Hygiene Toolkit to Help Increase Compliance in Long Term Care Facilities

Directors of Nursing in long-term care facilities now have a tool kit at their disposal that helps promote hand hygiene compliance to staff and residents. GOJO introduces C.A.R.E. Solutions.

Customized Materials include posters, brochures, buttons and meal tray reminder cards that promote the use of PURELL® Instant Hand Sanitizer and PROVON® to help prevent the spread of germs that may cause healthcare-associated infections.
Creative ideas are part of the Action plan supplied to help kick off the program and help build excitement among staff and residents. In addition, there is a pre-event survey, designed to help you gain insight into your staff’s current hand hygiene practices and their options about your facility’s commitment to compliance. There’s also a post-event survey to determine your program’s effectiveness.
Certificates are included in the Recognition phase. These certificates help encourage and reward good hand hygiene practices. The certificates recognize staff and patients for successes.
The Education segment of the plan features a video Good Hand Hygiene: Making it Happen. The video includes simple step-by-step demonstrations on the proper way to wash and sanitize hands in a long-term care setting. In addition, you’ll find links to helpful tools from national associations like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). It also contains product information about PURELL and PROVON.
