PURELL® and Flammability

There is no evidence to suggest that PURELL® poses a fire hazard when used according to package directions and warnings.

Safe handling

• Flammable substances are safely handled everyday. For instance, many perfumes, after-shave colognes and astringents contain alcohol and are routinely handled by people on a regular basis.
• Alcohol has been safely used for decades in hospitals for topical injection preparations

GOJO recommends:

• That PURELL be stored and used away from ignition sources
• Mounting PURELL dispensers away from open flames, heated appliances and other ignition sources
• Not using PURELL near open flames or while smoking
